Our Programs

We fulfill our mission by providing trauma-informed care, safety, security, a home atmosphere, and unconditional support through in-house and outreach programs for emotional wholeness, financial literacy, educational opportunities and lessons, and restorative healing to reach successful independence. Through our FIVE key programs, we equip women with the career & life skills to break their own homeless cycle and achieve and maintain self-sufficiency.

HomeMakers

Our HomeMakers Program trains and prepares mothers to take on the full responsibility of being a homeowner and provider. This is achieved through community support, collaboration, resources, intensive case management, intentional training, and individualized lifework planning; so that mothers can master skills in home ownership, finances, and health literacy.

CHAMPS

Our C.H.A.M.P.S. (Character, Honesty, Appreciation, Morals, Perseverance, Service) Program is our youth character development, mentoring, and creative arts healing program designed to enrich homeless and/or at-risk youth with the qualities they need to become successful individuals & entrepreneurs.

Seed2Table Market

Seed2Table is our on-site career-readiness, horticulture education, and therapy community supported agriculture (CSA) program. This program  includes weekly training in project management for both our moms and children. On a weekly basis, NATASHA House families perform horticulture duties, provide vegetables for the community, and receive fresh vegetables for their families. To purchase our products, click here.

Made4ACause

Made4ACause gives our residents a one-of-kind entrepreneurial experience through our product line. During our weekly sessions, we teach them how to design, create, market, and package hand-made items such as table runners, scrunchies, potato bags, affirmation pillows, bath salts, bath bombs, dryer balls, peppermint scrubs, bangles, bead bracelets, and gift boxes.

We Care — Paying It Forward

At NATASHA House, we continue to educate women and children about agriculture and entrepreneurship. These experiences, combined with our systems-thinking and trauma-informed care approaches, we help them create a pathway to success and self-sufficiency. The We Care Program enables our clients to leave with the skills and confidence to pursue their dreams, and a desire to give back to our community via three components of the We Care Program:

  1. Adopt-A-Highway - Four times a year our moms clean up the Yorktown portion of Denbigh Blvd.

  2. National Wildlife Habitat - Our children care for maintaining our Monarch Butterfly Garden.

  3. We Care Packs - Moms and children write “Thinking of you because we care" notes, and pack goodies and toiletries in specially designed bags. They are then distributed service men & women, veterans, and senior citizens.

Our We Care Program combines the principles of Thinking of You Week, which is an international movement to celebrate the joy of sending and receiving hand-written notes and greeting cards; and Pay It Forward Day which is a worldwide celebration of kindness whose mission is to inspire acts of kindness in hopes that the ripple effect of goodwill continues throughout the entire year.

Members of the community can participate in the HomeMakers and CHAMPS programs without living in our home. Our Seed2Table Market serves the community with CSA's (Community Supported Agriculture)-- CareShares. We also provide training and internships by producing a line of cookies, seasonings, a tomato jam, and a salsa verde.

Members of our community can buy our products from our Seed2Table Market website program. Finally, we have a FollowCare program for former residents that includes 3, 6, 9, and 12-month check-ins and monthly meetings with a social worker.
